Hot Rod fans – this one’s for you. Arguably the most well-known V8 engine of all time, the Ford Flathead V8 was introduced in 1932 and was the first V8 engine designed, built and produced by Ford for mass production. Thanks to its history, unique design, and signature sound, the Flathead has earned a special kind of reverence in the Hot Rod community.
Here’s your chance to build your own Flathead V8 without the hassle of owning a garage or even a Hot Rod. Along with ericthepoolboy’s Thingiverse design, this kit will provide all of the non-3D printed parts needed to assemble this scale working model of the Ford Flathead V8.
This kit will include:
- All metal fasteners and rods
- Rubber bands for fan belts
- Spark plug wires
- Power supply
- Geared electric motor
- Variable speed controller
- DC jacks and dongle
As with ericthepoolboy’s other designs, this model is fully functioning – belts, pistons and other engine parts move and work just like the real engine, but without the fuel, oil and combustion. Some previous experience printing and assembling complex 3D printed designs is recommended prior to purchasing this kit.
